Ive made the phone call to the hospital to say that Cameron is now better and can we be advised of a date please ??? Now just waiting for the callback - eek x
However the house is so calm and normal all the kids are happy playin with their christmas toys and for the first time in ages they are actually playing together - its a little bit of normality and has made me smile so much.
The talk on eveybodies lips in this house is another trip to walt didney world as they still dont know that we are booked for November we played along with we dont really know when we can go back - Ben straight away said well why dont we go now??? Err tempting son but theres a small issue in not knowing when thsi operation is going to be.
To plant an idea in the kids heads and to stop the hassling I asked tem when they would like to go -
Ben " Anytime except Halloween cos you will make me dress up!!"Typical Teen
Cam " March we always go in March !!" Typical Aspergers response
Daniel " Well I think January so its not too long to wait !!" Love your style son !!
Keira " I think christmas " Not that she has been listening or anything
By this point me and Wayne were laughing so hard its so typical of our kids to never to give us the same answer - at the moment they are thinking that maybe its a good idea to wait till March 2011 !!
Im undecided whether its a good idea to surprise the kids or to tell them as soon as we have flights and a definate date booked. Id love to surprise them the day we leave but Im not sure if Cameron will appreciate the surprise - he doesnt even have his presents wrapped as the mystery of whats inside will cause a meltdown and a meltdown in an airport doesnt sound so cool to me ???
So really everything my house is strangely calm and I love it and am cherishing it while it lasts x
Oh, I love the game of 'when shall we go back next time?' - Ryan always wants to go around his birthday in May, whereas Emma who doesn't have quite the same grasp of time comes up with 'next week?'.
ReplyDeleteOn the subject of telling them in advance or not...we once managed to keep the trip a secret until the day we were travelling, though looking back I really don't know how the kids didn't spot the cases, preparations, etc in advance. The look on Ryan's face when he came out of his room at 6am that morning was an absolute picture, rubbing eyes in disbelief at seeing the luggage, tickets and so on. However...i've got to be honest and say we also missed out on the build up, the looking forward to the trip, and the excitement slowly building as the countdown got closer to the magic zero.
Enjoy the peace and calm, and all the best for 2010. Emma says 'hi' to Cameron!

We'll be there at AKL from Nov 10-16 and possibly a day or to before or after it. At this point it's just the girls and I as hubby is not a Disney fan...trying to convince my mom to leave my dad and come with us though. I'd love to have a DIS Meet!
